Elizabeth 1

Elizabeth met Mary in the Tower of London.     A messenger brought a letter for Elizabeth.  The letter said Mary is going to kill you.  They had a battle, which resulted in Mary's death.  Mary was executed , her head was cut off.

LIFE IN TUDOR TIMES

This week we have been finding out what it might have been like to be a Tudor. Not too bad if you were rich. Pretty horrible otherwise!
We researched about Tudor homes, rich and poor and found out quite a lot about the different materials and styles of Tudor houses. We then designed our own Tudor buildings based on houses that are still standing today and the information we gathered. (Not surprisingly, everyone wanted a town dwelling) Finally we made our houses. I think you'll agree they look pretty impressive - a little draughty,  possibly! Flushing toilet, if you're lucky. Rats, definitely! Watch out for the advertising campaign coming your way soon.

OUR OWN TUDOR PORTRAITS

The Tudors, if they were rich, had portraits painted of themselves. They usually used a blue background as this was considered quite regal and they displayed them in beautiful gold frames. Can you work out how we made our frames?

WORLD CUP HERE WE COME!

This term we are fortunate to have a qualified coach form the Dorset Football Association come to coach us. All  the boys and girls are enjoying  learning new skills (and in Mrs Green's case, honing her skills!)

See if you can spot the next Gerrard or Terry, you never know.

Oops! Is this not netball?

The start of term has been a busy one in Lynx base. The children arrived back with boundless energy and plenty of enthusiasm. They had gone to great efforts to research the name of their class and were keen to share their findings with the rest of their peer group. Contrary to popular believe, it wasn't named after a helicopter but an endangered wild cat!

The children collectively and independently, produced their class charter. This is a set of guidelines that they designed to help them  gain the most  out of their school lives. It is based on  rights and responsibilites.
